Sikhs have been coming to Houston for long time. But as Houston residents Sikhs presence started in mid 1900. There was no
Gurdwara in Houston then. First Sikhs in Houston started to use one home as Houston
Gurdwara and to pray. There were not too many Sikh in Houston
Gurdwara that time,
But with their collective efforts they bought first piece of land at 8819 praire
dr for Houston Gurudwara and used a small wood
building for assembly and prayers, that was first Sikh center or Houston
Gurdwara. Now there are nearly 5-10,000
follower in Houston and many more in surrounding cities. There are now 7 to 8 Gurdwara
in Houston, Mainly
SikhCenter,
Breen,
NanakSar,
Ravidas,
Sugarland,
Fairbanks & purposed
SNC. You can find one houston
Gurdwara most convenient to you. It doesn't matter which Houston
Gurdwara you go to as long as you try to be a good Sikh, a Spiritual student, learner or scholar (Which
all means still be a Sikh) Following the Sri Guru
Granth Sahib Ji as your Guide Master Guru . You can

On July 3,2009, I lost mother, Rajinder Kaur Cheema after a long fight with cancer. For those of you who knew my mom personally know that she lived her life to the point where she LOVED life and cherished every minute of it. I know that any time I think of doing something challenging or difficult I know she is right by my side. Her strength gives me the strength to do anything and everything I want to do even when I doubt myself. She fought long and hard and somehow I always believed she’d pull through. Unfortunately that was not to be.

His absence was heavily felt by Sahbad and Kirtan loving Sangat and as well as Normal Sangat for his great Reputation. Bhai Sahib accepted the Sangat Request and has returned as Head priest at Gurdwara Sahib Of SW Houston.
