MESSAGE TO NEW GRADUATES

Life is a fascinating phenomena of Good and Bad, Happiness and Pain, Ups and Down. Most of the forces creating this marvelous drama are not in an individual’s control. But one important factor is – ATTITUDE.

Your own attitude determines the success of your life. “It is not the Aptitude, but Attitude that determines your Altitude.” Being fully involved in the situations of life, with a Positive Mental Attitude, makes the life a thoroughly fascinating experience.

If you add a bit of curiosity, and humility to seek the common thread that runs in the humanity, your life becomes an experiment in “Harmonious Living.” A pro-active life rather than a reactive life is certainly most satisfying.

The view from a distance is much different too. It is like seeing through a wide angle lens. Broader picture is more inspiring and helps you overcome fear. Distance is not just physical measure. One can distance oneself mentally too.

Mr. Jasbir Singh Sethi, (FAITH: SIKH), a 73 year old, semi-retired engineer, naturalized US citizen since 1976 and Houstonian since 1972 was congratulated by Mayor of Houston; when he was recognized and awarded the Honor of “Hind Rattan” (Jewel of India) by NRI Welfare Society in their 21st International Congress in New Delhi in January 2002. He was the First Indian Born Engineer, who became a Manager in Brown & Root in 1972 and led a team of engineers to design Piping Systems for Nuclear Power Plant.
